Rossi and Stoner's Opinion about the 1000cc Motorcycle

Stoner and Rossi
With great power, 1000 cc bike can ride faster on the track. For Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner, this is not something that needs to be feared.

Starting next season, there will be changes to the regulation in MotoGP competition. An 800cc bike will not be used anymore, and instead used a larger-capacity motorcycles, i.e. 1,000 cc.

1,000 cc bike could be ridden up to speed 350km/h on a circuit which had a long straight track as Qatar, Mugello and Catalunya.

Rossi admitted that Ducati 1000 cc motorcycle that already he tried, Desmosedici GP12, indeed very quickly. However, he did not see it's dangerous for the safety of riders.

"It's really fast. When I tried it at Mugello, when arriving at the end of the path straight I laugh, "said Rossi to MCN.

"It's very fast, but no problem. Maybe we're approaching the limit on the speed of 350 km/h, but not much has changed. The change is accelerated when around the corner, "he said

Similar statements expressed by Stoner. Repsol Honda Rider was not agreed with the opinion that the larger engine capacity will endanger the driver.

"There is a theory in the past that mention that the speed is too high it would be too dangerous. It is not true, "said Stoner.

"With the 800cc, the fact is even more dangerous if it hit the wall dividing compared to 1,000 cc. With higher speed, You have to put the brakes on early and I think that it is definitely not more dangerous, "he asserted.
