Nine Premier League Matches Still Held

English Premier League ensured continued normally, with the exception of Tottenham Hotspur against Everton. As reported earlier, riots in London, has made the situation no longer conducive for Spurs matches on the weekend.

The result, Spurs which is based in London decided to cancel the match later. Everton and FA also agreed.

"Following the discussions which still went ahead with the Metropolitan Police, authorities and clubs in London, the League can confirm that there is a delay of the Tottenham Hotspur v Everton, League matches in all the capital will continue to run as scheduled this weekend," written in the English Premier League official website.

"Act on the most current information from the authorities, there is no reason to believe that matches outside London would be hit by the outbreak at the moment," continued the statement.

English Premier League as well as ensuring that the safety of the supporters who are intent on seeing straight matches on the weekend remains a priority.

"English Premier League has been working intensely with the authorities and the clubs based in London during the unrest that hit later, in order to ensure the match took place with security guarantees for the supporters," stated Premier League
