NBA 2011-2012 Season Will Start On Dec. 25

Finally the NBA will start the new season. After the lockout reaching 149 days, NBA finally ready to begin on 25 December.

At a meeting Friday (25/11/2011) local time, the owner of the NBA franchise and the players held talks to 15 hours and managed to spawn a positive result.

Even though it is still uncertain, both sides agreed to hold 66 from 25 December action. The opening game of the NBA season 2011/2012, will bring together major clubs such as the Boston Celtics against the New York Knicks, Miami Heat face the defending champion Dallas Mavericks, and the Chicago Bulls against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The two sides did not explain what the deal was approved, however, the NBA Commissioner David Stern is confident the match will be held during the NBA's first Christmas.

"We want to play basketball. A number of other subjects yet to be resolved, but we're optimistic everything will be smooth and the NBA this season will start 25 December, "said NBA Commissioner David Stern, as reported by ESPN.

The NBA Lockout in 2011 alone is the fourth strike action throughout NBA history. This time commenced on 1 July 2011 and then when the lockout went into effect. The NBA owners and players did not reach agreement on the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), including the value of the player's salary, contract players, doping tests, and restrictions on the age player rookie.
