Sebastien Loeb Wins Eighth World Rally Championship

Sebastien Loeb became world champion in the World Rally Championship. This became the title number eight for Loeb, who won since 2004.

The title certainly Loeb (Citroen Total) in the Wales Rally Great Britain, after Mikko Hirvonen (Ford Abu Dhabi) which is the sole competitor for him to be retired on Friday (11/11/2011) local time.

Hirvonen, who left behind eight points from Loeb prior to the series and the series ' last season, suffered severe damage to his car radiator.

He had tried to return to the service area in Builth Wells, which is over 100 miles of your location. However, he didn't even pass through the city of Newton's power and then surrender.

"It was definitely over. I must thank the team for the excellent effort and all the help. Unfortunately is now we have to look to the future and see what we could do it later, "said Hirvonen at the AFP.

"He was definitely out. He was not going to start again, "said Hirvonen's team spokesman, referring to a session Saturday (12/11/2011).
